So how does it work?
It’s not just money you’ll save when you buy, finance or lease through the RICS Benefits Plus vehicle discount scheme, but time, too – we will take the legwork out of the research and comparison process for you. The process is pretty straightforward – here’s a breakdown of how it works:
It’s best to begin with a conversation to discuss your budget, timing, and vehicle requirements (and you’ll be asked for your RICS membership number, too, so do have that to hand). Your dedicated consultant will also give you plenty of useful information on the new engine types available, to help you decide whether one of the innovative alternative fuel options (including battery electric, plug-in hybrid, or standard hybrid), might be a good choice – or whether petrol or diesel could still offer you best value.
Even if you’re set on a particular make and model, then you’ll still need to pin down the features you want on your new car – depending on your timing requirement, your consultant will either help you look for a pre-registered vehicle or narrow down the options to your exact spec for a factory order. If you’re not set on a particular make and model, our friendly advisers will suggest a range of options that can help you maximise the amount of money you save.
Whether you need a vehicle for business or personal use, you’ll have a range of finance options open to you – subject to status – and your consultant will be able to discuss with you the way the different options work and how the monthly payments are affected by different lengths of contract, mileages and deposit amounts.
You’ll then receive your personal illustrations of vehicle specification and cost. Then, when you’ve mulled it over, and made a decision, you’ll be sent a detailed order form and initial disclosure terms and conditions for you to sign and return to us.
When we have received your documents, we will place your order with one of our nominated dealer groups.
Once the vehicle has been ordered, you’ll receive an anticipated delivery date, then regular progress updates while your vehicle is on order.
As your delivery date draws near, our customer services team will be in touch more frequently, to help with the details regarding insurance and payments.
You can choose where to have your vehicle delivered, either your home or work address – and a key-to-key handover service is available if you’ve agreed a part-exchange deal. Most vehicles from our nominated dealers will be driven to you, however it is possible to arrange transportation if you prefer (an additional charge may apply).
